Flyn 27, and other "new" coming from the West. We take I 10 to I 75. Although we can make it from Pensacola in one long day, we usually stop at "Casey Jones" campground near Lake City FL, just a few Miles South of I10.
We take exit 358 off I 75 (FL 326) to the east. In about 10 miles this dead ends into FL 40 E, (Left turn) go 24.9 miles and Turn Right on FL 19S, go 14.5 miles to Co Rd 42, turn left and go 18 miles until dead ends into FL 44, it is just about half a mile over the bridge to Ed Stone Park.
Florida changes to Eastern Time Zone just to the West of Tallahassee. _________________ Bob Austin

Thanks Bob, was wondering the best route to get there. Does everybody launch there and then go down river to the marina?

Yes, the only way to get to Hontoon is by boat. There is a free ferry to the other side of the river run by State Park Service. Limited hours. Some of the C Brats have been volunteers in the past and could run the ferry. I am not sure if that applies now with new rules and COVID.
It is about 3.5 miles from Ed Stone to Hontoon Island. Occasionally people have had the boat launched at the Marina near Hontoon. |

Any TomCat 255 owners have any experience with installing a rooftop tubular tower with or without a helm? |

We are signed up! Looking forward to it.
And yes--we will certainly be following the wash, mask, distance protocols.
Maybe Dr Bob can teach outside this time?!
See you in March

Rosanne and I will be there with C-Traveler. Not sure what exact dates we'll be able to stay, however I just reserved 9B for arriving on the 7th and departing on the 12th. Also, if anyone is interested, I still have my radar arch for sale that I pulled off of C-Traveler when I first brought her home. I believe it's stainless, and I'm looking to get $500 for it. I won't bring it along unless I have a buyer. Lots of other stuff I'm inclined to put in the auction, such as a 6 gal water heater, and the marine toilet. (Both also pulled off of C-Traveler.) |
|
Hi Guys--
Had my first summer with 1986 22 foot angler "Hazy Lou" and loved it! I live on Orcas Island, and was out crabbing and visiting friends on Stuart Island all summer. One big question for you guys: How the hell do you keep rain water out of the stern? Is there a clever way to install a bilge pump when there is no bilge? Bought a pump with built-in float switch, but it still allowed 2-3 inches of water to collect (and grow algae) before the switch triggered...help!
PS: Look forward to the first post-covid get together in Friday Harbor!
Pete

Serendipity has signed up for 2a from March 7-13. Look forward to the event in 2021 and to seeing and/or meeting C-Brats in the wonderful St. John’s setting. Hope to see you all in the happier more relaxed setting.
