Video (5 mins): https://youtu.be/TJKGSqLnMIw

This is a stroke friendlier method (in the video) since I've had one & don't want another.

Ingredients:

Directions for Cuban Baked Bread:
You Need:
14 oz cool water
2 Teasp. Sugar
1/4 Teasp. Yeast (active dry)
1 1/2 Teasp. Salt
Mix Above Together and ADD:
1 1/2 Cups All Purpose Flour
2 Cups Bread Flour
Mix until dough comes off sides of bowl.
Cover - leave 8-12 hours (overnight works well) darkened room
Morning: sprinkle some flour on until not sticky roll out into:
Bread pan you have greased very lightly with bacon fat
Cover with another bread pan and clip together if necessary
Let rise 40 minutes - put into:
400º oven 40 minutes
Take off top and let bread bake 10 more minutes (brown top)
Total baking time: 50 minutes at 400º

Method no knead from Steve's: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZdfub88-4D0Jc_V4T_yNrA

The bread and the beer - 2 of the things I enjoyed in Cuba. Mother in law also loved the bread, might talk her into trying your recipe.

Thanks for the memory,

Rob

You're welcome Rob. Agree on the bread, hard to give it up. I never thought I'd be able to have it again due to all the lard, but watching Steve's method it clicked with me that it would work and it did great. Too good not to share.

I like bread that's green.
The kind you take out of your wallet
to pay for your beer.

Aye.

Foggy - sounds like you have too much green in your wallet after selling your boat and are stressed about it. Drinking beer won't solve the problem. Go find yourself a new set of water wheels Mr. Green

I love beer when I cook. Sometimes I even put it in the bread.

Aye.
Grandpa used to say, "Put da lime in da coconut an mix it all up...".
