My bad. Had accident. Mucho cosmetic damage so need paint . I know the factory uses gel coat but the yard (Hinckley here in Savannah) says whole boat needs painting with LP. from toe rail down. Any idea how to match the green on the cabin? The bone color or whatever it's called should be easy to match.

Have you talked to River Supply? I remember they sold a lot of gelcoat products and paints when I lived in Savannah, they may have a lead on how to color match. Good luck with the project. I suppose if you're painting the entire boat, you can pick any color strip you want, color matching isn't as important. Hinkley seems like a good place for this, their yachts and craftmanship are incredible.

Hinckley didnt say impossible to match but River Supply is good. Reason to color match is because the cabin structure is undamaged and insurance wouldn't pay for that part I am sure. And all the cushions and exterior canvas is green. So green it is.

Hatteras White (Awlgrip Hatteras Off-White H8414) is what many use for touch up for the White. Many of the paint companies have similar.

There are auto paint shops who have color spectrum analyzers and can get an exact match...but gel coat fades. I would probably go with the Forrest Green, and consider re-painting the cabin eyebrow also.

Two Part LP is expensive, and needs experts to apply properly. Hinkley should have that experience.

The boat has to be sanded, and filled so that there are no blemishes. A good 2 part LP job will last at least 10 to 12 years--no waxing. The cost is not the paint, it is the labor getting the hull perfect.

Sprayed Awlgrip is the standard for the marine industry.

OK you already know the costs!!! It may not be much extra for the eyebrow, since they will already have the spray gun loaded, the boat masked and not much prep on the eyebrow.

Sorry to hear about the accident!!

My friend had the hull strip and eye brow both done on a 22 for about 3K, including prep and masking. He wanted a color change. There was not a lot of prep.
