Factory called last night at the prompting of the dealer -- Scott had told us the new CatyMae would be finished 3/17....factory says no, it'll be the 17th boat completed in March...real due date is 3/24...
Freezer's depleted of crab and I'm gettin crankier by the minute...sure hope there's no leaks in that new boat ... ever seen a menopausal 57 year old meltdown? Can't be pretty! |

Thats not too bad, only a week. Which I know, can seem like a long time. Now take Palmer boats, who is replacing my hull as well for taking on copious amounts of water. My hull was supposed to be finished three to four weeks ago, and I still do not have it. They tell me they are just waiting on a door, from the door manufacturer, but this is on top of the fact that I bought the boat in march of last year, and told them three weeks after the purchase about the major problem . It has almost taken a full year to get the replacement. Which I am trading away for a CDory, to a a company who knows how to take care of their customers. CDory has been very gracious even though they were supposed to get my trade a month ago. Plus I haven't fished since october and I keep reading reports on how everyone is just hammerring the blackmouth. I have lost more fishing time in the last year than I care to talk about, as I usually fish every weekend thats open, so I feel your pain. Hang in there your new boat will be sweet. Have you seen the new floor? It is pretty impressive, along with the new glass doors.
what is that saying
good things come to those who wait. Or something like that.
Good luck, Hopefully we'll all be out there hooking up soon.

I think they are pretty busy at the factory with all the boat show sells. I took C-Fisher down there the last week of Dec. '05 for some warranty work. I called and left a message and sent an E-mail to find out if I have even been given a time frame yet of completion. I still have not heard a word back from anyone . Sure don't like not having my boat in my yard and hearing about good fishing . Oh well, hope I get it by spring. |

Yup, I know we're very lucky they squeezed ours in the midst of a very busy schedule -- they had a year's worth of work at the time of the boat show! I'm just cranky when I can't fish...fact of life 'round here -- especially kills me to see the ol' leaky one sitting under the cover and not on the water! I go sit in her periodically...have a cup of coffee n wish |

I wonder what they (the C-Dory factory) will do with your old boat, when they get it back? I’ll bet some of us would be willing to buy it from them without the warrantee and tackle the leaking problem on our own.
Please don’t take the above statement as a critique about how you handled the situation because if I was in your position , I am not sure I would have handled it as well as the two of you did.
I really believe C-Dory will give you a boat you can be proud of and maybe someday we will meet at a C-Brat get to-gather and be able to laugh about the whole experience. _________________ Dave

Sark, that's one bad horror story! I SOOOO relate to being unable to fish...the dealer's still sitting on the Duckworth I traded in...have thought about buying it back! I know I'd never get Steve back out on the water in the wintry weather on it though -- he used to claim I was happier when it was raining horizontally and I had rain dripping from my face haulin in a fish than any other time!
You're right...we'll be bach in Arnold's words! |

Dude'et, you have a serious fishing problem, you have to realize that there's more to life than just fishing. Get out there and get active with other things, there's other fun stuff to do, like cruising the Juans or cruising the South Sound or cruising the river or puttering around modifying the boat or.....aw you're toast...a few more weeks and all will be well _________________ Ken
