We will try to make this gathering. Cedar Canyon is a good spot for those launching from Bullfrog or Halls marinas. At mile 110 it's a long way from Wahweep. On the other hand, most years everyone eventually came up to Forgotten Canyon anyway. An up lake gathering is best for us.

For what its worth, Dangling Rope marina does not have pompous or potable water available. Drinking water is available in 1 and 2.5 gallon containers. Not sure of when the D R Marina will close this year, but probably will be closed in Oct??

Unfortunately we can no longer to to Powell, but have friends who are thinking about being there in mid Sept to early Oct.

You could just launch at Halls or Bullfrog. Most of the years we end up at Forgotten which is the next canyon down from Cedar. I agreed to meet Mistery Girl from South Carolina there on Saturday. Hope you can make it up that way.

Steve, Sure hope I can be there for that. I would love it. Probably not have to worry about having clouds in the way.

You gotta make this one, and you've got plenty of time to get ready for it! Afterwards go over to NM, then later we need to get together again and cruise on the Colorado river. Could be some really good times and very likely have some pretty fair skys.

Yes I could, of course it is quite a bit more driving to get there from Tucson.
So, the question is: extra miles on the road or extra miles on the water. I'll figure it out. How is the ramp in Halls?

Halls crossing is a good ramp. C-Traveler a C-Dory 25 launched there two weeks ago and had no trouble in and out. That is where I will launch from after I leave Yellowstone and make a few stops in Colorado later this month.

That's me. After several past years launching a 22 at Bullfrog, this being my first year with a 25, I needed a steeper/deeper ramp. Halls Crossing worked great. Also much quieter than Bullfrog as for traffic. (Fewer others to share the ramp and parking with.) My preference in the future will be Halls Crossing! A few miles farther to get to from the midwest, but worth it. I was at my folks in Goodyear before heading up there. Would have loved to taken the Moki Dugway, but whimped out and chose to go almost to Blanding before turning in towards the road to Halls. (Head up north out of Flag, hang a right thru Tuba City, continue towards Mexican Hat. If you're feeling brave, turn off for the Dugway there. It's only 3 miles of 11% grade on gravel with sharp switchbacks on the edge of the plateu, but cuts off about 40 - 60 miles. Mr. Green Colby
