I played the video and all sounded normal to me. Weird. I guess it's not always bad being half deaf.

Yes the video ends up not capturing the problem very well (or at all), its actually quite a pronounced noise, I will probably delete it for that reason.

Other update on this for the record. I ended up getting it into a mechanic in mid July. They looked at various things and told me the timing belt tensioner was making noise and replaced it (also tuned up the one side that was running rough, said one of the carbs was gummed badly and the cylinder wasn't moving). Unfortunately the squeal is still with me so it was not the tensioner pully though maybe it was worn anyway (or maybe not).

I have since run it 20+ hours and it's going fine so far. Current favorite theory is back to prop vibration/harmonics in that RPM range which I have found mention of from others with this size Honda aluminum props. I am going to swap props between motors and see if the noise moves or goes away and this winter will be looking to replace the stock aluminum props with SS.

Flatfishfool is my son Dan. He purchased his boat in Valdez to replace the HIGH TIDE (my old boat) that was stolen from his storage yard last year.

That squealing is making him nuts and I know he appreciates the help you guys are giving him.
