Connie was really dejected losing this fish, but it all worked out in the end. Luckily we had both encounters on the security camera (hers in early morning is B/W):

Matt,
Please tell Connie that she is a real trooper for going out at the break of dawn for the chance to catch the big one. We are proud of her to be out there so early in the morning for the chance to catch a meal for you two. Even though she had this mishap on a miss hook, she still did well by just being there and trying. You will not catch a fish by just thinking about it!
Hope she is well because she looked like she was favoring her right wrist after her fall.
Even thought you finally caught that very nice Largemouth Bass later on in the day, just remember that she was the one who had a hook into it first. Connie did a great job in netting that fish for you. What a great wife you have to do the things you enjoy together. Thank you for sharing.

Absolutely! As any long timer here knows she can pretty much handle it all. A quick 4 min. view of her handling a trawler (from our "Mischief" days) which came after our C-Dory days:
