transom dimensions of the 19 and the 22 are identical.

Looking for a kicker to add to Tinker Toy and puzzling over shaft length.

The high thrust Mercury 9.9 seems like a good choice.

I added a kicker to my 2005 Angler 19 last Spring. I went with a Honda 5 hp - standard shaft. I also used a Garelick tilting motor bracket. This allowed me to use the standard length shaft model. The tilting bracket also gets the kicker completely out of the water when not in use.

I like the weight of the 5 hp motor. I remove it when trailering and its easier to put in the truck! I don’t think you will gain much going with the heavier 9.9 hp motor.

Garelick outboard motor bracket
Model 71093
15 hp, 4 cycle, 115# max

I ordered the outboard from Cumberland Marine in TN. They were great. Got the motor in just a couple of days!

Additional NOOB question. How is shaft length measured? From top of transom to bottom of motor under prop????

Here is the reference I used during my research...

Scroll down the page and click on “Shaft Length Guidelines” in sub menu.
