I joined C-Brats about a year ago as a Wanna-be, dreaming of cruising as I drifted toward retirement. Now I'm a C-Brat New-be, I just bought a 2008 22' Cruiser. I want to thank all of you who have shared your vast knowledge in these Forums. Lots of great advice that helped me find the boat of my dreams. I have some work to do -- clean up wiring and replace the trailer brakes. I'm sure I will have lots of questions but I typically find they have been well discussed in the forums. _________________ "Believe me my young friend, there is nothing-absolutely nothing-half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats."

Congratulations! You're going to really enjoy that boat - even the working on it part.
Don't be hesitant to ask questions. Even if it has been discussed before and you can't find the info we will either discuss it again or help you find the relevant discussions.
Good to see another Oregonian join our ranks! _________________ TyBoo Mike

Karl, Welcome, and congratulation on your conversion. The 22 Cruiser is (IMHO) the best C-Dory on the water, but then, I have to admit to being seriously, no really seriously biased. Lots of great info here on the site, and as you probably already know, there are plenty of great helpful folks as well.
Glide, OR. I know exactly where that is, (just up the road from Milo), and it is beautiful there.
Enjoy your boat, and plan on coming up to the San Juan Islands in May. Then, you can join the Friday Harbor CBGT, and/or meet with the Pre FH Cruise group at Coronet Bay and travel to FH with a few other C-Dorys.

Karl welcome to the c-brats I am fairly new also and I have found it to be fun and informative. Sounds like you have the perfect boat and I hope you have many new adventures ahead! A noted by Harvey our 25 is inferior but we love it anyway!

Micah, As I noted, I am rrrathrrrr biased so I should have said it was the best boat on the water for me. I have several good friends who have 25's, and have spent a fair amount of hours on them. My comparison: the 25 fits like a dress shoe, the 22 like a good old slipper.
But, as always, to each his own.
Harvey

Harvey, hmmm, using foot wear as an example and since my dress shoes are cowboy boots, I would rather think of our 25 as rugged hiking boots that can adventure anywhere my heart desires! |

Micah, Mine too, but then much of my everyday wear is also. Not sure everyone would follow that
The C-Dorys have been compared to alot of things, the CJ Jeep, the VW bug and bus, the ATV on the water among some of them. The good thing is that we all love 'em.

Yes we do, Harvey, and yes you are a tad biased--but we like you lots nonetheless. Hey, Karl, way to go. You've got a lot of fun waiting for you. Let us know how your shakedown cruise goes, and we'll look for you in mid-May!
