Boat Test.com of the Sharrow prop.,. Although the test boat is a Bayliner, it uses a 90 HP Merc, and a prop size most of use. (15 x 15).

This appears to be a game changer in prop design and efficiency. The question is how much this will cost, the durability and repairability. The recreational boat division is just starting, but the biggest savings seem to come from large vessels.

Looks like a cross between an egg beater and a Mobius strip.

That is really interesting! Thanks for posting.

High aspect ratio blades and reduced vortices seem to greatly improve the efficiency.

Wonder how the price compares.

One advantage to the C-Dory is shallow water operation. This can risk the prop. I have grounded my prop a couple of times. If my AL prop gets too messed up a replacement is relatively inexpensive.

Doubt it'll be the same with this one.

No where is the price of the recreational prop noted. They talk about "additive manufacturing--some have interrupted this as being 3 D printing in metals, since they say that any material which is used for current props can be used on these.

There are some University of Michigan test photos which show much less tip turbulence with the Sharrow prop.

I would sure like to try one out to see if it would reduce my RPM at cruising speed with a load. I have a 4 blade aluminum which came with the boat and has never been used (as far as I can tell).

I watched the video and then filled out the information questionnaire at the end. This means that when the props are starting to go on the market I get contacted. let you know when that happens. they wanted to know what size boat, motor, current prop, etc.

Sharrow Props are available to pre-order. $9,000 each in stainless, but they're sold out. $4500 each in aluminum. $18,000 stainless or $9,000 aluminum to outfit a TomCat. What a deal!
