Yes, very impressive. Makes me humble..

Two others I've met reaffirms some are simply 'a different breed'.

1. Patrick Childress (author of cruising guide to Nagarransett Bay, thereabouts)
sailed a 30' Catalina sloop around the world singlehandedly - twice.

2. 'Charlie' I met in Horta, Faial (Azores, Portugal) who just finished 30 years
cruising with his wife in the Bahamas. I asked "Where did you go, Charlie?".
He said "Everywhere". Charlie was 80 years old and died on the deck
of his boat the next day getting ready for a race to Sao Jorge.
Two female ER physicians attempted to revive him in vain. Later, his wife said,
"That's the way Charlie wanted to go".

Dying on his boat or being attended by two female MDs?

My FIL liked going to the hospital because of all the attention he got.
