Hey all!!
I’ve been stalking this site for a few years and have finally saved up enough $$$ to go on the hunt for a 22.
If anyone is in or around Sonoma County ( California ) and has a C Dory that would be interested in showing me their boat and sharing some items to look for particular to C Dory’s before I search I would appreciate it. I will also go to the Brat map and e-mail Brats close to me.
If you are looking to take it out on the water I would pay for expenses and buy lunch and if your going fishing even better
My user name is German for Devil Dog and I was in the USMC from 94 to 2001 my MOS was a longshoreman and I was also a PMI (marksmanship instructor) I’m a divorced dad with two boys 16yrs and 12yrs old.
I plan on getting a surveyor for any potential boat I’m interested in and have learned quite a bit from you salty dogs ! Thank you. _________________ What ever you are, be a good one 🇺🇸 |

Welcome aboard. Not sure if you have the time, but going to a c Brat gathering would be very worth while--seeing all of the various boats. Unfortunately the only one I know of during the remainder of this year, is in Illinois. There are some C Brats not too far from where you live. Bodega Bay, or S.F. Bay/ Delta area--There are a number of C Dory owners.
Good hunting. _________________ Bob Austin

Thanks for the welcome
I have seen in the past that there has been gatherings in the SF bay and Delta so I’ll keep my eyes open in the gathering section. |

When looking at and researching make sure you check the hull soundness for rot between the glass around any holes poked in the glass. My last repair was $20k.

Thanks Jack I appreciate the feedback! I’m assuming it will sound “hollow” or different from the rest of the hull? When ever I find a boat I’m interested in I plan on having it surveyed just to be safe.
Cheers 🍻 |
