You are correct Dr. Bob. I should not have used the term trickle. That would imply the use of a trickle charger which I would never consider using for long-term storage to keep a battery fully charged. Thanks. Gary. |

Thank you all for the input.
I replaced the batteries, but left the wiring the same after checking all the connections .
I think I realize why this suddenly happened after 4-5 years. I put 3 inch zincs on the tabs this year after having 2 inch zincs for all previous years. Maybe the extra weight is causing the extra draw. |

I doubt that a few oz of zinc would make much significant difference in the current draw. Consider the force when you push down on the tab and the boat is on a plane? Be sure and check out these circuits to be sure there is no defect.
