I've lost the posting regarding a happy experience obtaining a CD22 cover. It was a shop that had the patterns.

If anyone has information leading to this shop, it would be great.

Bob,

Here's picture of my cover. It's a King that I bought used, then had Bentley's here in Portland modify when I added the radar arch. I suspect that Bentley's also has a pattern since they do a lot of work for the folks that buy from Sportcraft. I am satisfied with it

THANKS

Angola was what I was looking for.

I will also talk to Bentley's.

Thank you both again for your help.

Since 2005 I am on my 3rd boat cover. The first cover was made by a local shop and they did a very nice job. It fit well and had a zipper door to get inside without removing the cover. It cost about $1200 if I remember correctly.

Next I went with a cover from Angola canvas. At that time my local shop wanted about $1800 and I think Angola was maybe less than $1000. I mailed my old cover to them to use as a template. The cover was good but just not quit as nice as the first one.

This spring I decided to try a non custom cover from amazon made by Budge. I got the 24' to 26' cover. It is not sunbrella ( the others were) but is water proof and I have a dry climate. This one cost about $350, covers the entire boat and motor, and seems to be well made. It is not as convenient since I have pull up the back of the cover to get in, and it is a little heavier. If the cover holds up for 5 years it will be a big savings.

I have had several Angola Covers, and have been very happy with them. If you send photos and measurements, they will customize padding and openings. You can have the "skirt" which comes over the colored panel on the hull topsides, to avoid fading of this colored gel coat.

A cover came with our boat and I've honestly never unrolled it. We live on the coast in SC and use our boat every month of the year. It just seems like a pain in the butt to fight with a cover just to take it off in a week or two. Ours is kept under a metal shed that's open on all 4 sides. This keeps the sun and rain off the boat. The problem is that there are trees nearby and leaves end up in the motor well a little and of course the boat gets dirty with pollen and dust.

Is there any other benefit to using the cover other than keeping the boat clean if it's under a shed? We run a little dehumidifier in the cabin all the time.

We have an Angola-made cover. It has been a great investment. Purchased it in 2010 and only now, last winter, did the stitching start to give way. The Sunbrella fabric is dirty due to our wet winters, but it still protects the boat.

I'm gonna have my brother sew the panels (he has an industrial machine) that "blew out" due to snow load and see how much longer it will last.

Another benefit could be increased resale value down the road due to a cleaner, less UV aging affect, and less oxidation and fade.

I got a stock cover from Empire Covers two years ago for a great price, on sale. By calling them I was able to use the actual measurements of my boat which includes anchor roller, motor and radar done, to get the right size. The cover they sent is sturdy, well made and fits for winter storage. It's loose enough that I wouldn't use it on the road, but that wasn't the idea.

Empire has a 60% off sale ending today, 7/8, if you're interested.

Agree with the folks above regarding Angola, in Indiana as the shop to go with.

They were $1,000 for a well fitting cover in February of this year. They made the whole cover via pattern and shipped it to me within a week of putting down a deposit. I had them extend the cover further down the side of the CD to cover the color section. The zippered side is important as I access my CD all the time out in the storage facility. The cover is too loose for long term high speed travel, but serves well just driving around town from storage yard to my home.

Click on my photos page to the left and see photos of cover.

Good luck with your decision.
To date the sunbrella fabric is weathering the snow, ice, and high UV of Colorado very well.

Our Angola (Sunbrella) cover has lasted 10 years. 2018 winter, two seams finally gave out due to snow load. I had them re-sewn and the cover is still in use. It's dirty, moldy, green etc but it still keeps the boat dry in our wet winters. The thread is the weak link.
