Are there differences in the lengths of the V-berths between the different C-Dory models? Such as, do the bigger boats like the 25 have longer bunks than the 22, etc? |

The 25 seems to have less sleeping room than the 22. I only fit into the V-berth by using some of Judy's room and sleep in the port side. the starboard side uses some of the space for wiring up the control panel. I am/was 6' 2". However, the 25 is wider.
I tried a 22 years ago and it seemed to have more space. This may be due to the lack of a anchor locker.
Thataway/bob has owned each model and will chime in with the real truth. I hope.
Boris
PS We bought the 25 for the head. |

I'm 6'5" and Judy is 6' and we fit nicely into the 22' V-berth. We do have an added cushion where the porta potty goes, so I sleep on the port side and Judy goes next to me. With the wiring area it would be too short for her. _________________ Peter & Judy Haase

Fore to aft length is about the same as the 22 in the 25. My son who is 6'4" prefer to sleep on the dinette on his Cruise Ship 25 (Larger dinette than the standard 25).
On our 25, the entire port bulkhead is removed. We can spill out a little there, and getting in the bunk is much much easier., also we have a 4" memory foam topper, which brings the bunk up higher and makes the bunk even wider. We sleep with heads aft--Marie on the Starboard--Angel in the center....We use Queen sheets, and have a fitted fleece for the first layer, if needed. Then we each have two other fleeces we can arrange to get the warmth we need. _________________ Bob Austin

Thanks, gentlemen.
Sounds like a 22 will indeed fit us fine.
Bob, is the dinette berth sleepable for us tall folks? |

In most cases when the dinette is used as a berth it is covered with multiple cushions. In our 22, the dinette cushion arrangement (there are at least 4, maybe 5) also leaves a gap. Some people have had an additional small separate cushion made to fill this gap.
We tried the dinette berth set up once when we first got our boat. We found the v-berth much better for sleeping. We also don't need to go through the exercise of converting the dinette to a bed and back again. |

As above, the dinette in the 22 is a bit of a stretch to be comfortable. Our 25 has extra cushions, and makes into a "sofa"...which would be more comfortable. A topper would make the experience better. I have slept on the Tom Cat's Dinette--and it was OK--but would not be my first choice. The 25 "Cruise ship" had a much larger dinette (and head). There were only a few of the Cruise ships made in the 1995-96 era. The. V bunk is about the same as the standard 25. |
