17th Annual Delta and Bay Extravaganza
Wednesday, May 1, 2019 to Sunday, May 5, 2019

Can you believe that this is the 17th year for the event? This 2019 event is now scheduled one month later than it was last year. Hopefully we will avoid some of the heavy rains we had in 2018.

If you are interested in being part of the 2019 Extravaganza, please reserve your spot now by indicating on this thread that you will be going, and that you are signing up for the full five-day journey. Please do not sign up unless you can commit to showing up to this Extravaganza, and you can attend the entire event.

You might look at the last 16 years of threads if you want some idea of what this gathering is like. There is also extensive video documentation of this event on the site to help you visualize this journey.

This year we will change one our venues. We will start off at Rio Vista and go to the Honker Bay Duck Club on Wednesday as usual. Then we will try to get back into Sausalito (weather permitting) on Thursday. We will skip Petaluma this year because of extreme silting of the Turning Basin there (sorry Joel). After Sausalito, we will be spending two nights in San Francisco (Friday and Saturday nights). We have the SF reservations now. The two nights in S.F. is new for this year, and we will have more time to look around the Bay and visit in The City this year.

There is a strict ten (10) boat maximum for the Extravaganza. This maximum is because of Duck Club and San Francisco marina space limitations.

Two (2) vessels are already signed up, namely:

1. Pounder – Jim & Kath
2. Dinner Belle II – John & Robbin.

Right now there are eight spaces left. The next eight boats signed up on this thread will be able to go. Pease be aware that this event fills up quickly with the maximum 10 boats. Those indicating that they want to attend after the ten-boat limit is reached will be put on a waiting list, and they will be added if someone else drops out before the event.

If you make the commitment to go on this trip you will likely enjoy the journey. There are many repeat folks at this event year-after-year.

This Extravaganza is less than three and one-half months away! Start preparing your vessels.

All C-Brats are welcome, both new timers and old timers. More will be posted later, but please reserve your place NOW if you intend to go.

Sincerely,
Jim & Kath

I want to do this as i'll be in the area that weekend but I can't commit to the full thing. I'll be graduating from Cal Maritime (right on the carquinez strait) that weekend. I can't give you a solid commitment for the whole time but I could probably meet you all in a few different places.

Last year Roger and I went a few days early and went upriver to Sacramento...We had so much fun I think I will do that again...even if Roger leads..(larger, newer motor)

I kinda would like to go a bit further upriver and spend a night at anchor... or a night in Old Sacramento..at the dockage behind the Delta Queen...

Plus...I just can not miss Isleton ...and "Al the Wop's )

This is one of the highlights of my year. I’ve been checking the site four times a day for the last several weeks to make sure that I didn’t miss it.

Please add Blue Eagle, with myself and my friend Chris Romero.

Looking forward to seeing everyone soon.

Darn! I can't make it. I have missed many of these because I do taxes. Now it is scheduled just after tax season and recently made a commitment for that week.
I hope you have great weather. We are getting last years rain storm now.

Sign me up, and thanks for pulling this event together once again. I'm happy with the change from Petaluma, even though I'll miss our usual visit with Joel's friends in town. Good choice to spend more time in S.F. There's a possibility I'll arrive early as well and try to visit other areas before the trip and perhaps after.

Will miss it again this year as I will be taking my "Land Yacht" up the east coast starting in late April. This is one of the best cruises out there and with a great bunch of people. May the sun shine on the party!

Never made this one...and the good news is I will be about 800 ish miles closer in May from Mt. Vernon, WA rather than Nashville, TN Cumberland River area. Have some irons in the fire dealing with VA medical side but, today, my plans are to drag my new to me CD22A back to the PNW end of March first of April time prior to potato planting season. Will read and catch up. Good health and happiness to all. Damn sure have missed yall.
