Apparently, 128 feet is not too big. Maybe old news for some of you but after spending the last 2 days in Bellingham, and walking by the new All American Marine facility, I decided to look them up (they make some neat Cats, check them out!). In August they launched the 128 ft. Enhydra at the public boat launch. Would have been fun to see that! I know a lot of you launch or have launched at Squalicum Harbor, so hopefully some of you think this is just as cool as I do!

Here's a link to the story:

Here's a link to the video (I appreciate how they have all the bumpers out, and how the guy on the stern throws a rope to the guy on the dock right at the end).

And here's a photo I stole from the website:

WOW! I pity the guy they show on the other side of the dock; of course he's got a great view. When I've launched at low tyde, I could of used those two trucks backing up the semi.

Wonder how they're going to get it down to Frisco. Tow it with a tug? They can't truck it down because of the height and weight. Put it on a barge? Try it's own propulsion? I hope you find out.

I bet we see this boat around the Sound for a bit. Looks like a month of sea trial. Hybred power with a Cummins diesel generator. It will probably go to SF on it's own bottom. Plenty of room for some accessory fuel tanks, bladder or otherwise.

That's the way we got Our Journey, a sailboat, from Tahiti to Vancouver. Our Journey was 36' and the smallest boat in the transporter. We flew back and met the ship in Vancouver. Motor on, motor off.
