I replaced one of the batteries (27) and charged the other (27) So no more ignition codes coming up . We still have a fuel delivery problem all the hoses and filters are new and pick ups are only 4 months old . Engine ran today on separate 3 gallon tank so back to seeing where their is a air leak .I keep having to bleed out the air with the shrader valve on the fuel rail . Hopefully we can figure this out and get back on the water .
I was really looking forward to this trip .I redid the bearing on trailer put in a new shore power pro12 system and got my vehicle serviced for this trip . I hope everyone will have good weather and safe trip . Jim |

6 boats are in Nashville for 3 days. So far all are doing well. The Cumberland has many faces. We will probably return next year to group River from Granville. The upper part is like the Smokey Mountains. Lots of “hollows”. Very down to earth folks!
We had a couple of cooler days, but now getting hotter. We probably will get some rain from hurricane Florence. Great c Dory owners. Fantastic locals. A friend of Mike & Pat Byrd gave us his 50’ reservation at the Nashville Dock! Angel made all sorts of new friends in the honky to Tonky district!
Bill E, new C Dory 25 owner is not only getting us slips at Commodore YC, but is going to provide a feast!
I was able to get an appointment with a hand surgeon at Vanderbilt for my crushed finger. He and his staff bent over backward to help us out! (As I was taking the Bimini down, A gust of wind slammed the frame on my middle finger,rt hand, almost severing it the day before we left for Alton. _________________ Bob Austin

An update:
After a fantastic barbecue provided by Bill & Sherry E at their Commodore Yacht Club of Nashville, (we are talking real Southern Hospitality!!! Also we enjoyed a dinner at “Skulls” with Bill & Sherry). the gang of 6 went down the Cumberland River to Green Turtle marina over the next few days.
Today we went onto Kentucky Lake and the Tennessee River. We had our first of many “wakings” by a large Searay who slowed to maxim wake speed of 14 mph!.
Great group, great people and fantastic boats. The C Dorys attract attention every where we go! |

Bill, we got a good report from the hand surgeon at Vanderbilt. It continues to slowly improve. Daily dressing changes and cleansing. I’ll be in the short splint for at least 3 more weeks. The hand guy in Nashville is a friend of the one I’ll see in Pensacola.
We have used the window air conditioner every day; temps have been in the 90’s! |

Greetings from the Cumberland and Tennessee River Cruisers!
Fantastic scenery, rivers, company and D-Dories. We've had a great time. Hot weather, but we've learned a lot including how to plane a TC255 in flat calm river water at 15 MPH (with un-ganged separate throttle and engine trims). At 25 MPH she purrs like a lion and eats river miles for lunch.
Highly recommended. See America!
Will post pics when home with better bandwidth.

The remaining 4 arrived in Chattanooga this PM. Hard rain, and more predicted. Most beautiful part of the entire trip today. We are right downtown.
As the lock doors upended as we completed our last lock there was a C Dory!!!
It was Falcon, Bill & Brenda Russell! They are well and did their own Tennessee River trip. So good to see old friends! |

We are down to 3 C Dorys, stuck at the Chattanooga docks. Jim Gibson was able to get his 22 out after swimming/wading up to their belly buttons and then winching the boat onto the trailer in the flooded parking lot. None on the rest of us is able to load under those conditions. The t
River has risen over 4 feet in the last day. There is an app for that!
All are safe and well; hoping for no more rain! |
