I am still getting to know this 22’ Cdory, got it used last fall. Year 2000. I have two built-in gas tanks that have not been used for years. I replaced the fuel filter and line to motor with a primer bulb. I am unable to draw fuel to the motor using the bulb. Maybe not enough suction power? Also not sure about the lever that directs flow from either tank. It seems like a priming issue, not sure. Any input welcome.

Did you fill the new filter with gas before installing? Are you holding the bulb vertical while squeezing?

Kingman,
This may be a non issue, but check to ensure that the fuel valve, mounter on the transom is not in the off position.

I have found that on some boats the fuel valve plate (Port Starboard and off) is mislabeled, or the lines are not hooked up properly.

It is also possible that the 2000 fuel lines were not alcohol (Ethanol) resistant, and the inner lining has deteriorated blocking the fuel line.

Certainly AlainP's advice about filling the fuel filter is a big help. Also be sure that there is no teflon tape wrapped so it blocks the fuel flow.

I probably would start the motor by using an external fuel tank.--you should be able to prime the engine from a 2 gallon fuel can to start with.

Be sure that the arrow on the bulb is pointed the correct direction. Try priming with the small fuel can. See if the bulb is developing suction--it is possible that you have a defective bulb. The bulb will pull fuel up from far greater depths and distances than the 22's tanks.

Make sure that the fuel line and bulb are going in the correct direction.

I would clean the tank and replace the fuel pickup tubes, fuel and vent hoses, and if ASV are present, clean them out.

Sometimes you’ll find a check valve in the elbow at the top of the pickup tube on top of the tanks. . These valves have a tendency to freeze, because they c9mbine aluminum with a stainless steel ball. I suggest replacing the elbow.
