This is quite a story I've never heard before and well worth watching:

Ryan Reynolds made a pretty good film about Luna.

That's hilarious. Orca was like "My boat now. Peace!" |

Orca are definitely intelligent beings, and extremely fun to watch. I have seen them in the Salish, but much more frequently in the Broughtons. On a couple of occasions I have had them come to the boat, within 10 feet. I had seen them quite far off and was slow cruising nearly parallel a half mile away. They made an obvious turn towards me. I turned away so as not to impede their progress, now a quarter mile to stbd. I shut off the sounder and the music and watched as they closed to a couple hundred yards. There were 5, 3 cows and 2 calves. The next sighting was the 2 calves just outside my window, 6 -10 feet at first sighting (with the blow). I am sitting there, no motor running, so pretty quiet, no sounder, and trying to get pix, but they are literally too close. For about 5-7 minutes, they were here there and everywhere around me, with the calves standing on their tail, looking over the combing and into the cabin windows. Close enough to smell. Just absolutely awesome.
They are great animals.
Loved the Luna story. Thanks for sharing that one.

I just looked at the Whale movie trailer, and (of course) there is an offer to buy the DVD. $19.95 And there are 2 movies, the 2 versions of the same story and each one is $19.95. But, there's more. You can get both versions (DVD's) for a whopping $29.95 and shipping is included.
I'll let you know which version I like best.....later.
And thanks for posting that poster pix.
Always a succor for a good Orca story.
Harvey
