One of the non-boating websites that I frequented has a "files" section that has Excel spreadsheets. Another site has a "list" of substitute parts and vendors for hard to locate items. I've looked around on this site and haven't found anything similar (which doesn't mean that it isn't there).

Jay's recent post about leaving out the transom plug when launching made me think about it again. If there was a C-Brat list of pre-tow, pre-launch, take out procedure, etc. that was downloadable, a member could then customize it to their own liking. Maybe, just maybe, I wouldn't get all the way home before noticing that my VHF antenna was still up. I haven't searched the web for something similar, but if I found one, I suppose it could just be posted here and people could find the thread (hopefully) and download it as text.

The "vintage car part" file on another site was fantastic because any member could add to the list. Finding items (like wiper blades, window hardware, etc.) were all in one place and the members kept the list updated. Substitute parts (cheaper and/or better) were listed along with original part numbers, etc.

Just a thought. The checklist idea is the one I'm most interested in. Being able to quickly run through a list would be nice. I once drove about 100 feet and then looked at the passenger seat. There was the pin for the hitch stinger. I'd like to avoid things like that in the future.

We use a Flight Crew checklist (prior job), waterproof pages you can slip in clippings etc.

https://www.amazon.com/Flight-Crew-Checklist-Binder-Protectors/dp/B005E0TF2U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1530739346&sr=8-1&keywords=flight+crew+checklist

It's not on the list, but we keep at least 1 GPS/DSC handheld VHF and a cell phone in the lockbox becuase NW Florida is lightning strike central of the entire US. Any even nearby strike will often destroy all your COMM gear (cell phones, radios, engine control systems, anYthing with a microchip) unless it's in a Faraday cage (cheap metal tool box would do).

Copy and paste this back into a Word doc, print as size A4 paper (or specify your desired size) and you should be able to adjust as desired, exept the 'phonetic alphabet' is a pdf.

I added a 2nd helm ATC fuse box and pull 12v fuses for the Garmin AIS 600 and N2K network because these items can't be auto shut down when either GPSMAP 8012 MFD is powered off, everything else is. And it was much easier than adding another switch panel to a very crowded helm area. We pull the 12v fridge fuse so the batteries won't be drained if the marina power goes out and the charger loses power. I found that changinG out ALL ATC fuses to the 'Easy ID' versions that light a LED when blown can save hours of trouble shooting. Cheapest on AMAZON. Edit away!

I'm not home know so searching the sight is difficult but seems there was a discussion about check lists way back there somewhere when I was just learning C-Dory. I had a printed one I used for several years, then totally memorized, but now that I have become more experienced, a checklist might be usefull again. I don't know as much as I did a few years ago Disgust

I searched, but my searching skills aren't great and I am easily distracted. If it doesn't appear soon, I'll have to re-invent one.
