I am making plans for this summers boating. I plan to stay on fresh water lakes in BC and also plan to boat Lake Powell in October. My old RayMarine C-80 doesn't have charts for these inland lakes and I don't plan to upgrade until I replace the C-80 someday.
I currently use Gaia GPS APP on my iPad for navigation, but it only loads Topo Maps and not Marine Charts.
I am looking at the i-Boating APP for iPad which has Nautical Charts for Canadian and US Lakes. I would like to hear other C-Brats experiences on this or other similar APPs before I fork out the bucks to buy something. _________________ Peter & Judy Haase

I use Navionics "Boating US & Canada" on my Android phones and tablet. Bought it years ago and I see it's still $15. No-cost updates. Works great. Would definitely buy again. Check out the Navionics webbapp to make sure your lakes are covered. Same image and resolution as on my phone/tablet. https://webapp.navionics.com |

I just took a look at that site linked by "LittleWing" above and it looks like it might prove useful, especially the Navionics+. Don't have the Tablet here right now or would do the download now.
I'm also interested in others experience with that ap, especially on an Android (Samsung) tablet.

I may be mistaken, but I think Navionics+ is for chartplotters. I suspect it is functionally and informationally the same as the app. At least it looks like it is. |

I have & use both Navionics & Garmin on my iPad. Use Garmin the most for the Active Captain info on marinas & anchorages. Have the iPad on a Ram suction mount, works great. _________________ Moxieabs on WIDGET |

Navionics Hotmaps West runs on the C80 or E80 and includes Lake Powell. I don't know if it's still being sold new. Maybe eBay? We use it and also run the Navionics program on the iPad. The iPad version is much more accurate on location and water depth.
The offers still there if you need to store your boat after Lake Powell. _________________
