Hello,
This is my first post. My wife and I have been thinking about getting a boat for some time now and I'm leaning towards a 22' C-dory because of the cost, reliability, efficiency and the C-dory community. Before I buy one I would really like to go out with someone a couple of times. I would like to go out when the water is nice and flat and maybe again when it's a bit rougher.
If someone would take my wife and me or just me out I would of course pay for fuel and would be very willing to pay for dinner and drinks and more if needed.
I live just north of Seattle but I would be willing to drive anywhere in the state to meet up.
Just a little about my wife and I. We are both in our early 30's. We are dog lovers and are very comfortable around water.
Thank you for reading this. Any advice would be helpful.

I would take you guys out, But I am in California. I also only have a 19 footer , a 2006 "angler". I can tell you this ... I go out and its calm and the boat is very fast and comfy. Around 2 o'clock as a rule, the wind starts (here in Huntington Beach) and it gets pretty choppy, and on days with a swell it gets choppy and wavy.
and the boat slows down and is comfy.
I guarantee you that a C dory is by far RAD !!!!! Hit me if your in town. Disneyland?
and totally free. If we went in thirds on gas for the day you both would have to pay me about mmmmm $ 2.48 ??? The design on these guys... They sip fuel.
Good luck.

DeseretBob, Greetings and welcome to CBRATS. I'm not that far away and will be putting the boat into the water sometime this month. If you don't find a better offer, you and your wife are welcome to a ride on SleepyC. I usually launch in Port Townsend. There are plenty of 22 around in the area so you should be able to swing something. Maybe out today, so Best in your Search. C-BRATS is a great place to learn any and everything about these great boats AND you'll find a very cool family here too.

Thank you for the offer Harvey. I plan on going out Saturday or Sunday with John.
I'm really looking forward to getting a boat and start exploring Puget Sound and more. |

Bob,
You may get the "a bit rougher" this weekend! Keeping an eye on the weather...
Synopsis: PZZ100-142000- 303 AM PST Wed Feb 14 2018 .Synopsis for the northern and central Washington coastal and inland waters...A cold front over the interior waters early this morning will exit the area by midmorning. Moderate westerly flow behind the front will become northerly by noon today. Expect light onshore flow to return on Thursday. A weak frontal system will move across the area on Friday, followed by a much stronger system this weekend. The weekend system may bring gale force winds to parts of the area. $$

Here's one that has worked very well for us:
www.PredictWind.com
Takes playing with it a bit to figure out how to make best use of it, but it provides more detailed/granular wind forecasts, by many more specific locations. Often had a better handle on what we would be facing than the NOAA forecasts, when we were cruising last summer. _________________ Richard Cook

I found WINDY.com last season and it works great for us here in Alaska. It actually covers the world. _________________ On the HIGH TIDE-II, wife Carolyn and I.....Another summer fishing on the HIGH TIDE II in the Cook Inlet at Cape Ninilchik, Alaska.
