TyBoo Mike, Any legal crabs this late in the season? Lew

Yep. We got 19. Not much bigger than legal size but they are full and tasty. There is a lot of fresh water in the river so the ocean crabs aren't as likely to venture in, and the commercial guys are catching all the 6 1/4" and above in the ocean so the legal ones coming into the river are mostly close the minimum sport limit of 5 3/4".

I think we might have a couple more days next week of calm enough weather for another trip or two.

Great Video Floyd! After seeing your video, this trip is definitely on my bucket list. What kind of camera did you use as the dash cam on your boat?
Cheers!

Floyd.

This video of our Lewis & Clark Expedition Cruise was off the top! Your photos and videos were spectacular.

How you captured the various available light was poetic. I saw things on this video that I never even saw on the trip!

Thank you for all your work on this endeavor. There is enough information on this video for others to recreate our adventure.

Floyd, I am thinking about doing another different Expedition Cruise in September. I wanted to see if you would be interested. If so give me a call and we can discuss it. If you are interested you can help me create it.

Echoing the remarks of others. Superb job. On top of excellent editing and photography, you seized a terrific selection of images of some superb sections of the Snake-Columbia system. I have traveled all of that via auto, except parts of the Snake, and the footage from the cabin of your C-Dory does a massively better job of showing it off. Too bad the fog descended below Cathlamet, my home waters. There is a lot of spectacular scenery there, especially on the WA shoreline. Worth coming back for a week on the lower river, to include some fishing!

Floyd, I just watched it again for the second time and it is even better the second time around.

Great use of multiple cameras and view points. Great colors. Excellent editing.

You really have me thinking I want to do this trip. I would prefer to do it at a slower pace though, and enjoy a few more days going downstream.

Thank you all for the great feedback, I appreciate it. Videos tend to produce themselves when everywhere you look there is beauty to behold. It is really nice to then be able to share your experience with other people.

Dave - I would love to spend some more time in Astoria and the lower river and to see what we missed in the fog.

Leo - I will have to ask Bernie (Vega) what kind of dash cam he had, he gave me all the footage.

I also compiled a video of some of the trains we encountered and were woken up by on the trip into a separate video. This is dedicated to my Grandson Alexi who loves the Trains!

Floyd, did you know what time the trains were coming or just catch them as they came by?

Harvey, In Arlington, it seemed like about every 15 minutes, as they blew their whistles numerous times with several crossings... Crying or Very sad Some of the others we saw as we cruised along the river. (OK, Arlington wasn't quite that bad. Maybe every 20 minutes... Confused Colby

Not sure if he is still doing it or not, but one of our brats used to run some of those trains on that route. When I knew that is was a few years ago, so things may have changed. When I worked in Portland I had a couple patients who worked for the RR and did that route also.
