Hello Cdory folks
I need to get some work done on my 25 Cdory and don’t own a trailer to get it to the shop. My boat is moored in Des Moines Marina currently. I live in the Renton Washington area.
If anyone is willing to rent me their trailer, please email or call me.
I would need the trailer for about 5 days.

Hi Brett, the current thread about outboards could use your input on Evinrude experiences.
I also know of a couple who may have a trailer in the area for you. I will email them.

Hi Brett. hey, good to get to see you. did you ever come up with a trailer solution? Might be too far to go but Kitsap Marine may have one. Seems like I remember that from way back.

Hi Harvey, great to see you at the potluck.
I was able to secure a trailer. I'll keep Kitsap Marine in mind for next time.
thanks for thinking of me. _________________ Brett

I know nothing about boat trailers. Does a boat require a specific trailer set up for it's exact shape, or are there generic trailers setups that can work with a variety of boats of the same size? _________________ Bill & Sherry C-25 sold 2020, next? |

Most boat require a specific set up on a trailer. So, most (trailer)boats have their own trailer. A trailer set up for a 22 foot C-Dory Cruiser could swap out one Cruiser for another, but it would not be a good idea to put a 23 Venture on it. A trailer for a 26 Venture would not likely fit a CD-25 although it would carry the weight, it just would not support the boat in the way it should.
There are some flat bottom boats that you might be able to swap around more easily with less adverse effects but you would not want to put a flat bottom boat onto a trailer for a deep-Vee or vise-a-versa.

That's what I figured, so borrowing a trailer means borrowing from someone who has the same boat.
Thanks Harvey. |

So many of the trailers now days are made for deep V or semi deep V and only have one bunk on each side--often slanted at the angle of the V bottom at the top. These are not satisfactory for the C Dory. It takes over an hour to adjust a trailer which is made for a flat bottom boat, to a c Dory 22 or 25. It requires several jacks and probably an impact wrench--plus time under the trailer to set up the bunks. and tighten the bolts. _________________ Bob Austin
