Pat and Patti, that is just cool that your town newspaper saw fit to write about your journey and share your blog link with their readers. And why not. That wasn't just a routine afternoon cruise to the Shrimp Shack. My goodness, what a hell of an adventure. Brings to mind Bill and El.
Possible Blaine mayoral run now in the offing, perhaps?

In reflecting on our decision to do the Loop in 2017, the major factor was my diminishing physical abilities as I got older. And none of us is getting any younger!. I was starting to have a tough time lifting the Alaska Series dinghy on top of the roof over the bow rail. It was difficult to lug the Honda 2000i from the cabin to the cockpit. Not impossible, but just starting to get more difficult. We decided we needed to do our Loop, if we ever were going to, sooner rather than later. We got a lighter dinghy and generator and decided to go before things went from difficult to impossible. We are not done boating by a long shot but the Loop does impose some demands that shorter cruises do not. Keep this in mind if you are thinking about doing the Loop!

Pat, That is very good reasoning and should apply to many of our life goals. You did excellent in researching, planning and executing not only memorable but epic journey. Add to that the serendipitous benefits of spontaneous new friends, educational opportunities, the chances to build previously marginal skills (And I can't think of any particular ones,) into proficient and efficient practices and completing nearly 5,500 miles, and keeping us all up to the day in your progress, I would say you get A+.

Thanks again, for sharing, and Bravo to you both for sticking it out.

Harvey
