Hello,
My 19 Angler does not have a sun visor.
Has anyone installed a sun visor in their 19 or 22 ?
If so please let me know.
Thanks |

Not sure what you mean by a "sun visor". One of the C-Dory trademarks is the "brow" over the front windows. Is that what you are looking for?
It looks like your boat has that so help us out with a bit more description or picture. (BTW, I love the name and the reasoning.)

When we had our CD-25, I used one of those static cling sun-shields; moveable, inexpensive, and you can put it right in front of you if need be and still see through it. |

I tried installing an automotive type sunvisor from my local auto parts store
and used the windshield frame screws to attach it.
It really didn't work all that well, as it wasn't dark enough. A solid one may work though.
What's wrong with a baseball cap and a pair of Poleroid Sun glasses? |

I too would like to have something better than a baseball cap to shade my eyes, while motoring west, later in the day, this time of year (on the East Coast). One of the things that I have though of, but not pursued is the visors made for airplanes. My dad had them in his airplane, back in the late 50's-60's, so I kwon they help. The block to light, without blocking everything, like an automotive visor. I have looked online for these type of visors, but have not taken action, but need to based on my boat ride, just two days ago... _________________ Steve Baum

The setting, or rising sun can be a real killer when you're only a few feet off of the water.
We always make it a point to not run down the "Sun Track".
Too many things can be hiding in the reflection. |

Doggy: You've got some nice pics in your album! Cool 19. Looks great. I see you have the Yamaha 75. I had an F80 , carbed on mine.
What do you mean by sun visor? Something to block the sun while underway or at anchor/dock? _________________ <><><> Jason <><><>

I installed Rosen Sun Visors on our last airplane...
http://www.rosenvisor.com/
These articulate every which way and do a great job. I would think this would be a great sun visor, attached under the shelf above the helm of a C-Dory. |

Phil,
What was the ordering info from Amazon?
Went for an early run this morning on Osprey and had to look at the sun for the 1st 15 minutes, due to sun angle and course. The ball cap didn't cut the mustard. |

Phil,
Thanks for getting back to me with the Amazon info. I did get feedback from Rosen for their Marine version of visors... $375, each... Really nice and certainly well made but. |

i like the visors on amazon with the suction cups, good price and definitely worth it for the early morning or late evening runs _________________ Capt Mac Daniel

We use very thin black plastic trash bag material cut to fit. It makes a temporary tented window for cruising in to the sunset. Tact it up with velcro or duct tape. Roll it up when not in use. It covers the whole window and takes care of both the sun above and the refection on the water. |

Wouldn't it be easier to just put the trash bag over your head? |
