Our rubber seems to have shrunk.at the bow it is about 2 in.too short?
Has anyone have this happen, no impact or gouging or tear.
We were told it is only sold in full lengths.
Would anyone have a small piece maybe 3 in.that we could buy?
We are a 2006 22' cruiser

Thanks

Yes, the vinyl insert often does "shrink. I just checked my 2006 boat and there is one piece on each side. Some boats have had one piece go all around the boat.

If you cannot find a short piece of the insert, you can fill this area with black silicone and gradually build up to the profile of the rub rail insert. I did this in the stern of one boat.

We replaced our rubrail insert this spring and have some left over. We have a 92 16' cruiser- don't know if it will match your inserts profile- but we can send you a chunk and you can see if it works.

I replaced all the rivets on both rub rails. When I reseated the rubber strip into the metal rail (not an easy job) it was a couple inches to short. I just popped about 3 feet out of the metal strip and stretched it to fit and worked it back into the grove. I really don't think you need to add a piece.
