Pat, that airplane you're standing under is my airplane, an A4D. I worked on the production flight line for Douglas Aircraft at El Segundo, LAX, when I got out of school in 1957. I was the repair engineer, whenever the pilot found a defect, I wrote (into the log book) how to fix it. I had enough sense to ask the techs and write that down. A really, really fun job. Met Battery Room Annie and she told me about WWII. My bike, though English, had AN fasteners on it.
The A4D went on to become ubiquitous, flying around the world. John McCain, your favorite, got shot down in one. The Blue Angles flew them. Douglas sold many overseas and every air museum has one. Shown that airplane to my kids a hundred times, explaining that they wouldn't be here if I hadn't had that job.

Pat that is my number 1 museum to go to .We have taken my Grandson there on numerous occasions . If you were upstairs there are a few cockpits to get in .My Grandson dropped our camera into one of them and I retrieved it which was quite a sight to see my head down in cockpit with my legs and feet sticking out of the cockpit .Funny now that i think about it . Jim (jennykatz)

Wow, 420 miles to go! What a neat trip! So, what is your total water miles covered so far? And how many hours on your Honda? _________________ Chuck

Pat I have enjoyed following along with your blog, and a question arises. If you had not had a dog with you, would a dinghy have been required? It seems like shore trips for Baxter was your main use. Outside of that, did you really need to have a dinghy on this trip? _________________ Bill & Sherry C-25 sold 2020, next? |

Good question, but I think we would have wanted a dinghy even without at dog. For example, we went to shore a few places to sightsee, and a few other places to shop. Of course, if you stay in marinas, it is a different story, but we have always preferred anchoring out to staying in marinas! |
