I feel a little foolish, but...

How exactly do I reply to a (or for that matter, send a new) message to a site member? I recently recieved a message, wrote a reply, hit "Submit" and went on my merry little way. But, my reply was never sent. It just went into my "Outbox" and stayed there... never making it to my "Sent" box.

So I tried again. Same thing. Then I tried to write a new message, instead of replying. Same thing. What am I missing here? Something simple, I presume? Embarrased

At the bottom of this message is a REPLY button.

I got two replies to the Private Message I sent you about the rear seat on your 16 Angler, they don't show up on the forum pages. I only used the Private Message 'cuz I was in a hurry.

I think - but I'm not sure - that Private Messages remain in your Outbox until the recipient reads them, at which time they move to your Sent box.

Oh...

That make sense then. Strange system, but I guess it works. I'll just have to be patient after I send 'em.

Thanks for the reply. Thumbs Up

Those PM's, I believe, stay in the Outbox until the recipient is online, at which time they should go to the other guys Inbox and the sender's Sentbox. I have had a couple that stayed in the Outbox for many days before they were sent. Also had a couple that stayed in the Outbox for a couple weeks before I deleted them.

If the receipient does not have PM notification enabled, then he has to look at the top of the front page to see if there are messages in his Inbox. Still, they should leave the Outbox as soon as the guy who is supposed to get it comes online. Sometimes, it just doesn't work that way. Must be a Penguin thing.

I will send you a test PM, and you reply to it. Don't get worried about it leaving your Outbox until 8:00 or so this evening, because I am working late and I am not supposed to be using this guy's office.
