Many thanks to Greg And Cindie for hosting the gathering! Craig and I learn something every year we attend! Great folks with lots of great advice and help with our newbie questions! Since we actually caught shrimp this year guess we can't refer to ourselves as newbies anymore, still lots to learn! Many thanks! Also forgot to contribute to the kitty....how can we do that!

Thanks Greg and Cindy for all your great work. Sorry I was so anti-social but I had two other couples with me this past weekend and Joyce and I have our 36th anniversary on Tues so we arranged to do a dinner as a small group on Sat. That combined with lots of effort shrimping, didn't leave much time for socializing. Over the Fri., Sat. and Sun, we managed to pull about 550 shrimp out of the water. We ate about 50 Friday evening and each couple we had with us was able to go home with a two-day limit of 160/couple.

Both of the other two couples took the ferry back and forth. One couple was on the 2:00 ferry yesterday and captured this photo which I assume was of a C-Brat returning home. Anyone know who this might be?

Well that was a great event. We are still here Monday morning at the dock enjoying the first three days of consecutive sunshine we have had in months with 4 more days on the forecast. What a great place.

The Friday night dinner was great with lots of visiting. shrimping tides where spot on for the event. Saturday pot luck was great as always. Pat and Patty called in from the Chesapeake bay. They are on their loop trip and wanted to say hi. to everyone. This was the first Friday harbor event they have ever missed. You can follow their blog of their trip. It was hard to hear them on my phone but I hope they heard everyone yelling hi. They were missed.

This is such a wonderful place. In the last three day we have seen the following dolphins, hump back whales, steller sea lions, all manner of birds and last night on the dock we got to listen to two barred owls calling back and forth from the dock. On top of that we have a ton of fresh shrimp. We will see more in the next few days I am sure.

Hope to see you all again. We are in the area for the next week so give us a call if you are in the area.

Thank you Cindie and Greg.

Greg and Cindie,

Many thanks for hosting this event. Enjoyed every minute of it!

It was great seeing our 'old C-Brat friends' and meeting so many new folks.

We forgot to add to the kitty but will make up for it at the next CBGT event.

Thanks again,

Ruth and Joe

We had a good 10th! Friday Harbor gathering with the weather proving to be especially perfect for the weekend. There were 34 total boats coming and going for the event with the notable difference this year being a much shorter list of Canadian boats.

The new boating requirements for crossing into the US last year did make things more painful and even the two boats this year also had a tedious trip through the crossing process. We should make up for it by sending extra boats up north to the Powell River gathering in July. (Ari will be there)

The Friday dinner went well and the potluck was fabulous and there was no shortage of activities and socializing to fill everyone's weekend. If you forgot to contribute to the kitty, don't worry and catch it next time. The dinghy's were circling and some grown up brats (moved to bigger boats) also came by to visit before departing for an Alaska summer. We had about 10 boat safety checks completed and the boat safety event on Saturday kept a few folks additionally entertained.

Thanks to all the Brats who attended for you patience and great attitudes and especially for granting me the honor of my first two boat christenings.

Thank you Greg, Cindie, and Aven for hosting this wonderful event once again. This was my third, and they have all been the highlight of my boating season destinations! And especially thanks for ordering up the fantastic weather for this year's get together!

WOW, Sounds like a super good time and nice weather too. Hot

First FH I have missed since it's inception, and I sorely missed being there. Family priorities, took me south instead of north. Looking forward to making the Powell River one and crossing wakes with some other CBRATS before then.

Ya'll stay safe, and see you soon.

Thanks Greg, Cindie & Aven for hosting this. What a wonderful time. I posted a few pictures up in my album. I don't know why but when it converts then they go a little out of focus. I'll try again a little later.

Thanks for putting on the great gathering guys. The changes to Canadian visitors by boat is a pain. The cruising permit now is supposed to exempt under 30' according to the Homeland Security website but last time across with Blake on his NT32 the agent said 'all" visitors by boat. It takes a half hour or so plus lots of paperwork. That plus the US/Cdn exchange difference and couple of other wee items convinced me to forgo this year. It definitely takes some of the fun out of it dealing with the climate at the border. We'll see you again in FH. Maybe some of you in Powell River. You make an automatic 35% increase on your money up here! Boat safe, boat often 😎 George

Many thanks to Greg And Cindie for hosting the gathering! I am back in Canada but in no rush to go home. Graig and Ciny did a great job of arranging great weather for us.

Thank you Two Bears for all the great dinners together.

Just wondering if any plans have been made for a Friday Harbor gathering this coming spring (2018)? My original plans were to do Alaska this coming summer, but I'm thinking I will end up putting that on hold for a year. In which case, I may be interested in attending a Friday Harbor gathering, and I believe you tend to do them in May. We'd be coming out from Wisconsin, so would be looking at spending at least a week in the area. But, this is all tentative. It may make more sense to come for the gathering on our way to Alaska the following year.... Colby
