Does your tank take up about 2/3 of the area under the aft dinette seat? That is standard--about 20 gallons, _________________ Bob Austin

It is a aluminum tank with no strapping to hold it down. It is setting on 2 x 2 oak frame that appears to be glued to the floor. It was wrapped with water bed heater and wrapped again with water heater blanket. |

The original tanks are roto-moulded food grade polyethylene. Aluminum is not the best material for water tanks, because of its reactivity with chloride ion (as in bleach used to 'shock" water tanks and systems.
You should be able to find a water tank to fit from Ronco Plastics--there are a number of tanks in the approximate C Dory size.
Some owners have removed their tanks, and occasionally you see one for sale. |

I have the original tank that came with my 22. It is the poly one. I'm not using it. My plan is to put one under the v-berth area. However, I have had it out for about 3 years now and haven't missed it. The storage space in the cabin where the tank was is much more useful.
I'll be out of the country for awhile, but if you're interested in this tank, we can try to work something out. |

I have a water tank that I removed. You can have it for free if you are ever in Southern California. I put in a water bladder when we re-configured the interior. _________________ "The secret of life is enjoying the passage of time..." (James Taylor) |
