I need to buy a washdown hose but i can't find any with the correct end/ coupler. The end that connects to the boat is metal and reminds me of an air pressure chuck (you pull it back and then insert).

Anyone have that style? Link to where i can buy it?

Thanks!

Look at the one that Tom on C Otter has:

It is discussed in a current thread. His is flush, the air hose type are not--(and are not really an air hose fitting (I tried one of several air hose fittings Had to see if it mated with the one on the Tom cat.)

That's not the one. Mine is not flush. Maybe there's a pic in my album, if not I'll try and take a new pic.

Thanks

I had this same problem - the washdown hose split and it had a permanent connector (air hose looking type). I bought a replacement coil-type hose, but it had a standard faucet connector on it. I ended up going to a plumbing supply outlet and they had the connector and fittings to go from the faucet connector on the new hose to the new (air-type) connector that they also had. This worked great and no hose clamps! The best part is that if the darned hose splits again (and it will), I can buy another replacement coil hose with the standard faucet end and transfer all the connector, adapter fittings to it. I'll see if I can get a picture of it....

Here's a picture of what's needed to adapt a standard faucet coil hose to an "air-style" washdown hose plug....

Sorry, I didn't realize that you already had the standard C Dory fitting. I had tried the two air fitting styles I had in my shop, and neither would work properly with the fitting which came with my Tom cat. So be sure that the fitting you buy will work properly--and it may well be a plumbing shop will have the proper fitting. No way to know, until you try.

When my cc-23 had the air hose type of fitting I took it off and put on a regular marine hose bib faucet works much better with standard hose less leaking .jim

I installed a washdown pump on Journey On. Not a factory installation, but a pump I already had. Just uses seawater.

For the inlet I teed off the head inlet. Didn't put a valve in either side and it works just fine. Apparently the pump, when its not working, is a solid seal. Doesn't suck back through the toilet when in use.

For the outlet I just attached a piece of 1/2" hose, ran it out to the coaming pocket and attached a plastic hose fitting. As mentioned above, the pump provides a seal. When I want to washdown anything I attach a hose with a bib, start the pump and Judy sprays away. Simplicity itself: no expensive fittings and installation.

Thanks everybody, so I see there is no easy way, and nothing still on the shelf. So I will do the plumbing dance and look in to compressor fittings. Thanks again.

Not responsive to the OP, but the one pictured in this link is what we have on Daydream. We had a heck of a time with it, and shied away from using it, until we noticed that it has an arrow on the top of the blue fitting that goes into the flush socket! The arrow has to be at the twelve o'clock position, then it is fairly easy to seat it correctly! We have used it a lot on the Loop, especially since we have been in fresh water!

That is an air fitting just stainless. I took the coupler off the bulkhead got a part# off it & found a supplier on ebay.
If you don't need stainless your local NAPA will have the fitting.
Bring in the sample hose end & match it up.
Have a good one Wink
