My next-door neighbor is a furniture builder and he built two really nice shelves for my 25. One for the cabinet under the sink and the other in the cabinet on the port side.

Now, he's scared about mounting them. He thought about glue but does not think the glue will hold because of the texture of sides.

Screws and if so length?

Ideas?

5200 on a block of wood, adhered to the hull; attach the shelves to the block of wood.

Journey On has an extra shelf under the sink and several in the V-berth. They are factory installed and have been good for 10 years.

The factory glued wood blocks to the hull and then used "L" brackets to support the shelf. I would guess that the blocks were bonded to the hull before the inside was painted, so one would have to sand down to the fiberglass surface. 3M 5200 or epoxy would make a good bond. Make the L brackets out of stainless strap. The factory didn't use stainless and the straps have started to rust.
