What new & used dealers would be selling " C-Dory like " boats in the Annapolis & surrounding areas? Would Ranger yachts, or Rosborough dealers be a good bet? I bought my 2004 22' at Cutter Marine some years ago. It's time to sell now. Phone 484-800-4908, or 484-432-9335. Thanks Joe |

Seems to be a good place to do so. _________________ "Is there a 12 step program for people addicted to sailing? Yes, & the 13th step is called a C-Dory" Marc Grove

Joe,
You can easily sell your 22 on the C-Brat site or list it on Craigslist in your area (I just sold my Parker in 3 days on Craigslist). If you want someone to sell it for you that knows what a C-Dory is, then call Mobile East Marine in North Carolina. Great folks that do care and are not your typical used car salesman. _________________ Steve Baum

Many sales of C Dory are thru the C Brat web site. It is not that far from Annapolis to Alliance NC (about 358 miles). C Brats are willing to drive long distances to get a good boat. I have driven over 1000 miles to buy each 3 of the C Dorys I have owned. _________________ Bob Austin

I just bought a C-dory on the site and I plan to make a 5000 km (3000 mile) road trip vacation to the Yukon to pick it up. _________________ Peter & Judy Haase

And I thought I was nuts to drive from Southern Illinois to Pender Harbour, BC to pick up a boat!
Congrats. Have a great adventure and tell us about it when you get back. |

It was interesting to tow "Problemadela", a 22' cruiser, from Bakersfield CA to Anderson Island WA, a little over 1000 miles, with a Dodge 1/2 ton 6 cylinder truck. Most of my experience in the past was towing my fathers crabbing boat, shorter but wider than a C-dory, around the Chesapeake Bay and Florida with a 3/4 ton truck. It was always an ordeal, 8.5 ft wide and heavy. The C-dory, even though it is a longer boat, was a breeze, tracking about the same as the truck, and lower on the trailer, even with the cabin. I passed a lot of larger boats being towed with 3/4 or 1 ton trucks that seemed to be having trouble with crosswinds, and they had to slow down. My main concern was not being stopped for speeding. I did sleep in the boat at a rest stop, and fixed a meal on the stove...kind of like a travel trailer. So far, the boat seems perfect for S Puget Sound waters and moving from place-to-place on a trailer. I'd say if is the right boat for the right price, make a vacation of the tow, as easy towing is one of the great features of this boat. _________________ Rob Harrison & Marcia Ciol
