I will be towing Raven Dancer to Port McNeill. Leaving this Saturday from Vancouver WA. Going to catch the Black Ball out of PA and drive up to Campbell River and spend the night then onto Port McNeill.
I need to be in Echo Bay 7/4. Weather permitting.
Should be coming back early October.
Let me know if your interested.
Thanks Dave. |

Sound like a great trip. We have spent 6 to 8 weeks in the Broughtons two different Summers. Are you going to be based out of Echo Bay the entire time? Fishing and Shrimping should be good. Trailering to Port McNeil is a good idea. We were stuck in Sayward one summer for a week, before we could safely get the few miles north on a very windy and rough Johnstone Strait. Lots of water to explore up there. _________________

Yes that's the very reason we drive, the wind and current can stop your trip in its wake up their, and I told Pierre I would be up to help then. As I get older I find that there is safety in numbers and another rig coming along would be a lot more fun !
So if you have some time your welcome to join.

Dave, I'm in Portland Harvey tonight, launched from Telegraph Cove last week. Be sure to put the CBRATS Group Call MMSI # Into your VHF. I have been trying it everyday with no response. Will try and swing by, hope to see you there.
Tom, Bummer about that prop. I was headed up that way but it got blower out there so I ducked into the islands farther south. Maybe they will be in Echo soon.
Oh, that Group Call MMSI # is 036697831. Caution, Don't put it in if you don't have a GPS hooked up to your radio.
Harvey

The folks boat is a 44 ft atlantic named "endless" white hull, blue stripe and tan canvas
link to boat
this is a old picture. it now has tan canvas.
Here is their email from today.
Will we are back in the water after sleeping at a steep angle and leaning to port, we were in the cradle on the marine railway. We went in it yesterday and they took off the prop. The manager gave us his truck to drive to Campbell River to get the prop straightened. Couple of the blades were bent back but no edges curled. We had to catch the ferrie to Port McNeil, we were in the bakery enjoying a cinnamon roll when I decide to go out to the truck to get something. Looked up and saw the whole line off cars for the ferry. Don’t know why neither of us thought about getting in line. We were the last car loaded, what luck. It was an interesting two hr. ( drive thru steep mountains and passed big lakes. Would have been 15 hrs by boat.
Dropped the prop off and dad managed to get a haircut and I bought a few groceries at a real store. We headed back north and again we were the last car onto the ferry. We had to sleep the night on the boat because the tide was up and they couldn’t get to the back of the boat to put the prop on. Put the prop on about 8 am but again had to wait for the tide to come in to launch us. Very interesting procedure being put on the rail.
We decided to stay until Sat. and enjoy Canada with the locals. Will be fun to see if they have fireworks and stuff like we do for the fourth. We will be headed out after that.
Love you guys Mom |

Harvey,
Camille & I are heading up to the Broughton's tomorrow in our Nordic Tug. I have the C-brats MMSI # programmed in the VHF and will keep an eye (and ear) out for you.
Our tug is a 26', red and white, named "Magick". We estimate we'll be in the Broughton's in 10d or so.

Raven will be moored at our cabin on Balaklava Island near Scarlett Point for the month of July, we are about 12 nm from Port Hardy, towards Cape Scott. Stop by and see us, we try to monitor Ch 16, but we'll be the only C Dory and only boat moored on Christie Pass near Scarlett Point. |

Randy, I am still thinking I will be up your way later in July. Would you mind turning off the fan. All I'm getting is NW winds, well, except for when it blows from the south and brings the rain. Looking forward to getting north.
