I just purchased a very nice 06 Tomcat 255. The previous owner replaced both front original seating with captain seats. Id like to put her back to original spec with the original flip bench seat port side allowing to sit facing forward or aft and I think it can then turn it into a bed. Would I contact C-Dory for this or is there a 3rd party source avail.
Thank you!! |

You could DIY, just build a box. A "flip back seat is very easy to make--basically the back is "hinged" on a bolt at the bottom, inboard and outboard. There are stops at forward and aft positions. You can use this "locker" lift off the top.
But with the flip back seat, you cannot have a dore on the front.
C Dory has a fiberglass excursion, the lower part , which fits into teak slots on each side of the box (fore and aft), so you lit this out, turn it around, and put back in the opposite position.
I would try and find out what the previous owner did with the standard cabinets.
Below is what the seat looked like before--you can see that the back cushion is facing aft, to revers, you put the back of the seat in the teak wood slot seen.
Is the cabinets for the foot rest in place between the two seats and forward of the seat?

Bob thank you for the reply. By chance do you have a picture of the back side of the seat showing the bracket.
Here is a picture of my seat I want to put back to stock.

If you were local, I might just trade you for ours. |

I would consider trading my original seats for your replacements. My 2008 is in Punta Gorda. Contact me with private message and we can talk. _________________ Tom Little

Probably should have mentioned that the original posting individual and I made an agreement and are completing our exchange for seats this week. Our interior is green which is the same as his, so it worked out on both sides. |

Gland it worked out. Sorry I missed the request for the original back. You have all of the goodies, on the box--so the exchange should work great for you!
Interesting that the original owner didn't keep the original seat cushions and back rests. |
