I just had a nice conversation with Justine, (marketing VP that Susan set the weekend up with) and she was very sensitive to the C-BRATS needs. The Lakeview Lounge area we had for the potluck is open to guest usage for other hours besides the breakfast time. The 4 - 8 PM that we had was for exclusive CBRAT usage, thus the meeting room fee. The meeting room across the hall was considerably more $$$ and was already reserved when Susan made our reservation.
The rates we got were the lowest that they have available, and the only way to adjust that lower would be to make reservations earlier, more room numbers and pay ahead of time, more like I remember the arrangements at the Larkspur, where we sent in the pay ahead of time. I didn't get in on many of those gatherings, but I remember having a big room and some smaller ones that we had access to for the whole weekend.
My thoughts on the Silver Cloud are that it fit our needs pretty well, and the shuttle was perfect. I stayed at the hotel Sat night, went to the Boat Show all day Sunday, and the shuttle picked me (and several others) up at the Clink and took us back to the hotel, where I and some of the others left for home shortly after (around 7PM).
Thanks again to Susan, Great place and great job to set it up. Recommend for next year, we set it up sooner, and with more folks. We had 11 rooms this year, and everything went well. We could double the reservations and maybe get our meeting room for free, or at more of a discount. Justine knows that this stay was a trial for this year. For me I think it worked well. Others may have different ideas.

great..
thanks for the new info.
maybe i should set set up the reservations next year before thanksgiving, and ask for people to send in a deposit on the rooms early so we get the lake view lobby for free.
I dont think i want to reserve the conference rooms because they are , one too much money , over a 1000 dollars, and not as pretty. they don't have the kitchen space , counter tops and electrical outlets and sinks. but using the lake view lobby for free or 200$ and a deeper discount on our rooms would be ideal
thanks Harvey,'

Hi Susan.
I do think setting up early would be a good idea. Don't know how well that will work, (I know, scheduling with the Brats is not always easy), but worth a try. She didn't promise free, but certainly did sound like we might have some bargaining power.
Oh, I didn't mention the sink thing
The main idea i got was that the breakfast area we used is really open all the time, and we could meet there free, just not officially. The fee closed it to anyone except the CBRATS, and we know how well that worked, right
Thanks again,
Harvey

Just as an aside, if there is a larger group next year another option for a dinner might be an Argosy dinner cruise on one of their smaller boats. I've arranged those in the past for modest size groups (~50). It wasn't particularly cheap nor particularly expensive (maybe $35-50/head depending on group size). Their operation is directly across Lake Union from the hotel. _________________ Roger on Meant to be |

It was really nice to see everyone last Saturday at the Seahawks' playpen, and especially at the Silver Cloud potluck. Absent the gridiron drama, noggin-crushing hits, shapely cheerleaders and a third consecutive super bowl quest, we were free to turn our attention to our real love: water toys.
A salty shout-out to this event's primary promoter, Susan, with an obedient assist from Tom. Thanks to you we had what I thought was a really suitable facility situated about as perfectly as one could expect. I think last week's rendezvous pleased about everyone, and established itself as a preferred future landing platform for our yacht club.
Sorry I missed you at the boat show, Jon, Robbie, Joe, Ruth, Shelly and Lyle, et al. Photos will do for now, and I wish you all well. I toured the floating show with Bill (DaNag), and we agreed that two 300 H.P. outboards on a Devlin challenged our belief systems in uncomfortable ways. Sam's 43 footer, however, put us right back in our favorite slippers, smoking jacket and easy chair. She was a show-stopper, a jaw-dropper.
It was very nice to get to see Harvey, John and Amy, Peter and Caryn, Fred and Robbin, Dan and Tanya, CPO Joel, California Roger and Professor Roger. And Tim, I'm glad you were home and with your beloved Tiki during his last day with you. Those events are painful and emotional.
Be well, Brats, and I'll see you at our next gig.

Catman,
Really good to see you there too, and glad to see some posts. Sure hope to see you at Friday Harbor or on the water along the way.
I have to agree, 2 is good, but 300HP, Bet your boat would have turned circles in that fuel tank
