My port side sliding window on my 22' was sealed shut by first owner I'm assuming to prevent some leaking drips. How would one go about repairing or replacing that? Are they expensive? Available? Can seals be replaced?
Thanks!

Anders

Diamond Sea Glaze (Canada) made most of the C Dory windows. They should be available. They are not cheap. But first take the one you have apart, and I suspect that you can revive it. The "U" channel track with the "fuzz" should be available. There are ways to put new or original handles in place. The "wiper seal" between he pieces of glass can be replaced. The window frame can be cleaned, actd etched, and properly preped, and then re-painted.

In case you decide to buy new windows:
I had new side windows cut by an autoglass shop when the old ones showed weathered "milky" around the edges.
Those have served me well now for seven years.
If you bring them your current windows they can copy them.
Then Purchase the fuzzy seals from Diamond Seaglaze in Langley BC.

My handles have a double sided adhesive black foam tape on the aft side, and on the forward side where they wrap around the glass
I used a 3M urethane, probably 4200.
Clear silicone should work fine here as well.

Thru the years I have tried several adhesives, including the "Rear View Mirror Adhesive". Clear epoxy works the best for me.

I've been working on my windows for a while and finally cracked a pane. So now I'm replacing. The sliding window is a challenge, as it has the U Channel with Fuzz on both top and bottom -- making it a chore to get out. I'll probably end up breaking it (the plastic channel) to get the window out. The stationary window segment of the slider did not have the U Channel so it lifted right out.

Anyone have any success locating a replacement for the U Channel?

Matt

Do a Google search on "StanPro" SS window channel. They make it in both single and double channel. Various marine supplies carry this.
