I built a fish box/seat in the splash well of my 2005 22. it was the best add on I did to that boat. some photos in my album some were.

I'm not sure if this is the type of thing you mean, but I have always thought this was a super nice added box. It is aluminum, and there are drains in the bottom. It's on the 2008 22 Cruiser "Sea Wolf" (user name "hambone"), and there are more photos and description at the following links.

Note that the boat has twins, which I presume take a bit less room forward when tilted than a larger single. If a single (or single and kicker), there would need to be room for the main to be tilted up. I think that as far as this area is concerned, a Cruiser and Angler would be of the same dimensions.
