Has anyone changed their Seastar steering helm 1.6 to a 2.0 model? How about the Seastar Pro helm model for a Tomcat?

My 1.6 is leaking internally and wondering if a new 2.0 Pro helm might be a better 'fix'? One concern is a quicker ratio might require more turning effort with two Honda 150's to control

I have had three Seastar helms on Discovery. The first one leaked and Seastar replaced it. The replacement helm blew the oil out through the filler plug during a high power backing, when the wind was blowing my into the rocks at Lake Powell. I contacted Seastar and they sent me the new Seastar Pro helm. All of the replacements have been at no cost to me. I have had to do the work of replacing the helms, and paid the return shipping. This last Pro helm is working fine after three years.

My initial Sea Star helm on the 255 also blew out, during hard backing. Since I no longer own the boat, I don't remember what the replacement was (this was when the boat was only a few weeks old).

Thanks guys. I considered replacing the internal o-rings but will go with the SeaStar Pro instead.

Discovery- was yours the 2.0 model?
