So, you think that's why I wasn't paying attention? Keen insight. I caught two fish today out in the ocean. They weren't real big but they were both wild coho with all fins intact which makes them mighty tasty! All but a week or two of the year we have to release those guys. Lots and lots of those guys. |

Actually, the thought of you neglecting your administrative duties had not entered my mind, but I must say you seem a bit defensive. Guilty conscience?
No, I was just curious how the fishing was, and since I couldn't be out there, I was hoping you were. I've been tempted to perform the famous fillet and release on fish with too many fins, but so far I've managed to resist the urge... |

Tied up at the floating dock at South Skull Creek in Flaming Gorge. Officially the prettiest anchorage we have been in. Love the trees against the red rock. The lake is a bit nippy but the air is warm. Loving our new Sea Eagle kayak. Mike from his unnamed C-22 aka "Little Joe" is here on the lake and we're hoping he joins us for bears and sour Kraft.. Do two c-brats constitute a "gathering"? |

Tyboo Mike,
(Not being a fisherman, I have to ask...)
In your previous comment you mentioned that some recently caught wild coho with fins intact, were small but good eating. Why would having the fins intact make any different on their eatability (edibility?).
Best,
Casey*&Mary

If they are Wild you have to release them. If they are farm raise they clip the fins so you can tell that and there ok to keep. They both taste good. |
