So Tom and Joyce, I have to ask you a question, if you two being a lover of pie, show up and there are only pie enough for 20 people and 30 people show up, how do Jan and I determined who gets to have pie? We would of course lean towards giving you some because you have said that you are going to be there but you also said that you love pie and that is points in your favor. We can do a rough count of those who announced on the blog that they are going to be there and then add a little extra, however, that won't help if we get a last minute rush of people who did not let us know that they are coming. If anybody has a good number of how many will be attending please let us know so that no one misses our on Jan's homemade pie topped with Tex's homemade ice cream. Lee on the Tully-B |

At the gathering that my wife and I host in March on the St. John's River we kind of guess. Good or bad weather can make for more or less boats. We order food each day depending on how many are in attendance that day. I do look at the event sign up list for a rough idea before hand. If I were to guess I'd say about 30 for this event. But...that's only a WILD guess.
I'm sure no matter how much pie you bring it will disappear! I'll even make room in my YETI for any extras!
Sure is nice of Jan to bake all the pies. Hope that others that said they will come will also check in on this link to let you know.
Can't wait to meet you and Jan.
Thanks again....Tom _________________ Tom and Joyce Schulke

Hi Jan & Lee of the Tully B ( There is a song in there somewhere)
It is my guess that we will have about 35 people at the Friday night dinner. This will include invited guests from the marina.
We will have a short meeting after the dinner to make a presentation and a group photo.
Getting real anxious to get there and see the familiar faces and to meet new C-Brats. Should be a fun time. We are ready but the Pelican is still waiting to get cleaned up after sitting under a walnut tree. What a mess.
We should be arriving on Tuesday, Monday if the weather looks bad on Tuesday.

Ahoy C Brats,
Just a note to let you know the crew on the Joni Lynn will not be joining you this year. We have an old, sick dog that is no longer able to travel and requires the kind of care we can't foist on anyone else. My plan was to come alone via truck and have Joni be the caretaker, but that plan also fell apart as of yesterday. We're disappointed as there are lots of familiar faces we'd love to see again, and also were looking forward to meeting the newcomers to the group. But, such is life ! Hopefully we'll be there next year.
We wish all of you C Brats the best, and toss down a couple of brews for us.
Warm regards,
Paul & Joni aboard the Joni Lynn |

Paul & Joni,
Sorry to hear that you can't make the trip to Alton. We are glad we stopped by earlier this year to see you guys.
Hope you pouch is doing better. It's tough to know such a fine animal is not doing well. Best of luck with him.
As far as tipping a brew for you guys, I've already started the process.
Hope to see you guys soon. Take care and Gods speed.

Use the Active Capt interactive guidebook map.
zoom in to Alton till you can see the marina.
Place the pointer on the marina
the lat-lon appears in the upper left of the map |

Gave Alton Marina a call and was a little surprised they don't know their own coordinates. Anyway, thought my Garmin Chip might show the marina and it did. This is probably close enough, for anyone else that is curious. N38 53.171 W90 10.720 (Want to do some geocaches while I'm at the gathering, and having the coordinates makes it easier for doing some research before I get there. Also, a little OCD, lol, and wanted to plot the marina on my GPSMAP and Mapsource charts before I get there...) Colby |

Colby,
Look at the 4th entry in the blogs where I indicated the coordinates for Alton Marina. These came out of the Quimbies Manual and I assume they are correct. I don't remember exactly what they are but you can look back and see them.
See you soon,
Ken |

Recommended directions for those arriving from the north via I-55:
Exit I-55 at Hamel and take Hwy 140 west approximately 15 miles.
Exit onto Homer Adams Parkway (SR 3) southbound and continue for 1.5 miles.
Turn right onto East Broadway and follow it westbound for 2.25 miles. Stay left onto the Broadway connector, which connects to Hwy 143/US 67.
Turn right onto 143, which merges with 67 as you pass the bridge.
Turn south (left) onto Henry Street, which is the second light west (upstream) of the large US67 bridge crossing the river. As you approach the levee on Henry, veer left to the boat ramp, which sits under the bridge itself, or right to the Marina. There's no trailer parking in the Marina parking lot, but there's room to park your trailer at the ramp area. We usually leave our trailer in the ramp area and park the truck in the marina lot.
If you follow the marina's instructions to go south to I-270, west to US-67, then north to Alton, you'll stay on limited access highways for nearly all the way, but it adds 30 extra miles. |

We met Ken and Pat at the ramp in Alton this afternoon, so I can report that they arrived today. We have a problem with our steering, so pulled out to have it worked on.
As a result, we'll miss most of the gathering this week, but hope to make it for dinner Friday. Ken and Terry, let us know what we can bring for dinner Friday.
