For me I think some people need to be at least verbally dumped on when they put others in harms way. Maybe granny ought to be off the road. I hope the kids tell their parents that some man yelled at grandma for her poor driving. If I get some bad juju from letting people know their behavior is unacceptable I say bring it on. I view the whole political correctness thing has gone way to far. But as you can see nobodies perfect. Mr. Green

You might be confusing "political correctness" with just being nice. The former is unnecessary, the latter is something to which we should all aspire.

Dusty told me a story once (or he told Catman and Brock told me) about how he came to get the name Dusty in the Navy. Often when there was a ship's crew or base that was lacking in discipline they would send Captain Lampman in to professionalize things. The old saying was that when he was done there was "nothing left but sawdust".

That story isn't all that remarkable in military settings, I suppose, but one thing he added truly struck me and I have used it many times since to help me in life. Dusty said, "And you know, I never had to raise my voice once."

But then, he probably never encountered grandma on any of those ships.

On a somewhat lighter note- I noticed while driving that my vision in the left eye was really really bad when looking for oncoming traffic at an intersection. Explaining this to Dotty, I pointed to the left lens on my glasses and discovered that the lens was missing. Old age can sometimes be a b----!

Great Laugh Marty! Rob, that is probably about the time I would have laid a heavy slap on the side of the lady's car and let out a rebel yell!

Marty, that's great! Thanks for sharing! I suspect most of us have had one of those kinds of moments in our life. Very Happy

This topic came to mind when I viewed a badly damaged C-Dory in eBay today... The 22' cruiser is being sold with a clean title, but with the damage done the boat most likely was written off by owners insurers and passed off to a boat broker that deals with boats in various conditions.
There are lots of very good photos of the damage, so for those that want to see what happens when you get rear ended while towing your C-Dory, this may be of interest.
I am surprised with the asking price, as the cost of repairs will be very high.
The eBay item number for this C-Dory that is in "great condition" (as touted by the sell) is 262026627293.

Here is the link to that boat: An 03, 22 Cruiser out of Florida with 597 hours showing on the meter. The boat does look nice and clean, might appeal to someone who has the knowledge and experience to do serious fiberglass repair, and it loos like the 90 Honda was the point of impact -- Mount, steering, prop and transom and the tow loop on the stem are all issues. The winch post on the trailer also damaged. Definitely a project.

Thanks for the pictures, especially the one of the truck off of the cliff and the boat trailer holding it back. I was just researching trailering a CD 16 to Bella Coola and whether I would want to trailer a boat up and down "the grade," which is the only road in (27 miles of up to 18% grade). I'm starting to think that I'll pay for the ferry.

towed my 22 down and back up there a few years ago-go slow
once down went out to shear water and spend a few nights dreaming of meeting a truck on the way back up

There are spots where you would not be able to pass side to side with large vehicle
fishing great when you get down

Okay, it goes back on the possibilities list. I'm just getting used to my first auto tranny tow vehicle and I'm a bit spooked by how little resistance is generated when downshifting. That Bella Coola grade looks like a bad place to experience brake fade.

Undoubtedly true. But I doubt a jury would have seen it that way.
