We've decided to only go to Lake Powell, with one caveat. If our vacation home sells, we might have to cancel at the last moment. I've ordered a 60qt Engel, so hopefully we will be less dependent on the mushy ice that you buy on the lake. _________________ "And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. Regarding fuel. The marina fuel dock is $3.39 per gallon. Non ethanol. |

Yellowstone Park Road construction - For anyone that may be coming thru the north entrance at Mammoth. Between Mammoth and Norris Junction there is construction work with some bumpy road and it can be muddy. They do have new pavement on much of it. There is maybe 3 miles of hard packed dirt with a few pot holes. Not terrible and getting better every day. The alternative is to go over Dunraven Pass, it's the most scenic drive, a bit longer route with several miles of switchbacks, good asphalt the whole way. |

6 boats at Yellowstone so far plus a couple kayaks and a Mokai. We expect one more boat today. Yellowstone is amazing. A bison just strolled by the marina. Sunny today, cool but not windy. So, now we're out touring the lake. We'll do group dinner at the lodge tonight. _________________ Freedomonthegreatloop.blogspot.com |

I'll post this in this forum as well as the Lake Powell. Marie suggests that we find out how many boats to be expected at the gathering. We are loading today, and are planing our part of the pot luck for about 15 boats. For some reason there is no "Group sign up list". _________________ Bob Austin

Sat AM, we are in Island Park, and will depart later this morning for the marina and get checked in and probably launched. Tonight we are at the budget cabins at Fishing Bridge, then the next 2 nights on the C-Squirt. We will try to connect later today.

We now have a Lake Powell signup sheet. Please do let folks know if you're coming. |

We arrived back home this evening from a wonderful time with our fellow C-Brats at the Yellowstone Lake Gathering. This time the gathering involved less on the go & more just great conversation & sharing of experiences, while about the docks at Bridge Bay. Travel wasn't necessary to see the wildlife as a large bull elk, mule deer bucks & a buffalo were around & easily to see right from the docks, along with beaver & a very busy muskrat. We were even serenaded by a bugling elk & hoot owl, which was heard at least by some of us. We will be looking forward to sharing more time with Jody, Rob & Mary & Mike on down the road & water at Lake Powell & Kevin & Laura this coming weekend back at Yellowstone Lake. A highlight of this gathering to me was seeing Yellowstone John again at the lake, he's been returning to often for the past, I believe 62 years. _________________ Jay and Jolee 2000 22 CD cruiser Hunkydory

How do you guys want to do the pictures for this? We can make an inclusive Grand Slam album or create a separate one for each cruise. Either way - let me know. _________________ TyBoo Mike

My vote is for an inclusive Grand Slam Album.
BTW - TyBoo - The dates on the Grand Slam announcement are the original dates. These are the revised dates as per a later post on page one. Thanks.

We agree with Kevin that one album should suffice, although we won't be able to post any photos till we have a better Internet connection. Yellowstone was great, and while we didn't launch at Jackson Lake, we look forward to seeing Flaming Gorge for the first time and then returning to Powell.

My 2 cents. A Grand Slam Umbrella Album with sub albums for each lake.. |

I was there for the Jackson Lake Gathering. Well, it was just me. I took myself out to dinner and it was great. Weather is upper 20's at night and 70's in the day time. Anchored out three nights and stayed in the Colter Bay Marina three nights. The pizza at Leeks Marina is good. Very nice lake here. Sergeants Bay was my most favorite over night anchor. Also hiked some of the trails in the park. They were really great. Lots of sunny weather.
