If its not in the owner's manual [not shop] you can disregard what your dealer said .
You probably [just a guess here ] alienated him a bit by
a. having a shop manual as an untrained non professional
b. and "helping" him diagnose the issues .
He probably spends alot of money training his guys and paying the monthly ransom to be a dealer . We try like hell to get our customers covered by warranty .
