Well I have been trying to get raymarine to answer a simple question for me about the new handheld auto pilot. The new S1 handheld auto pilot is designed to work with all ST and S1 auto pilot control heads which is what I have and most of you have. Raymarine has designed in "fishing modes" to the functions of the autopilot. Fishing modes include "zig zag", clover leaf and spiral. Zig zag will make your boat zigzag while keeping a over all heading in the direction you want. the zag can be adjusted for distance and time. This function will save my thumb a lot of work and save me from walking and pushing by susan to get to the helm every 20 seconds. The fishing functions are the good news the bad news is that the fishing functions only work on the S1 control heads. I have the St6001 control head. the other good news is that so many people have called wanting to know if the fish modes will work on their ST6001 that they plan a software up grade for the ST6001 unit so it can use the fishing functions with the hand held. The bad news is they don't have a date yet. So keep your ears open for this to happen in the future and don't forget to call raymarine and ask when the up grade will be out. squeaky hinge gets the oil.

You must be referring to the S100 wireless system? Unfortunately according to the documentation it won't work when traveling below 2.7 knots which is kind of silly if you ask me. What good is it to have trolling patterns if you can't slow troll? Am I missing something here?
