I have really big feet (us 13) and was uncomfortable sitting at the helm in a 22 cruiser, my feet have to be angled like " \ / ". Can anyone tell me the helm space in the other models? Or, surely someone else has had the same issue and solved it?

Although I have owned the other boats, I have not noted any serious problem with foot room. The Tom Cat is definitely larger, and I believe the 25 is also larger. My son wears size 14 and he ran the C Dory 25 for 2 years, never complained. I wear 11 1/2 and no issues. BUT, I am usually bare foot, or have sandals, such as Keen's on, rather than shoes.

So…what were you wearing?

I do occasionally stand up, move around and stretch when at the helm for a long period of time.

We never wear shoes inside, socks in winter bare in summer
Never noticed an issue, only size 11 1/2 though
One could always cut toe kick out of the bulkhead as it's nonstructural
Just make a nice cutout so you have room

Thanks for the fast answers, maybe I just wasn't wearing the appropriate footwear Smile

I'm looking at a 24' Tomcat next week, I think the berth on that may be a better fit too - the 74 inches on the 22 Cruiser would have me hanging my toes off into the cabin.

Size 14 and we also don'twear shoes on the boat and I never even thought about footroom. The berth may be 74 or 75 inches at a straight angle but I am 75 tall and sleep with my head in the port corner and angle from there to the anchor locker with enough room to stretch.

My son is 6' 4" and 240 lbs and finds that the 22 is a bit tight. He is OK with the C Dory 25. I am 6' 2" and find plenty of room, with my wife (5'8") and the dog--(usually somewhere around our feet outside the covers)

The Tom Cats definitely have plenty of bunk room. In the 255, I also had a cushion made to fit in the navigator's foot well to be level with the bunk, so I could sleep fore and aft, that allowed my grandkids & daughter or wife to sleep athwart ships, so that we could sleep 4 on the forward bunk.
