Last Fall when my dad had the boat out he noticed the motor had no power to get the boat on plane. I checked the prop this weekend and did not find any line or material on the shaft, and the prop looked fine. My dad said no lights were flashing or beeping noises were noticed on the gauges. The motor never stalled but ran fine at lower RPM. It sounds like a fuel issue to me. I thought I would ask the "brats" and see what you think the problem might be.

The answer here-- after checking all the easy stuff-which- if your a safe competent boater you have done already- the next step is accomplished by running a computerized Outboard Electronic Ignition Systems and Diagnostic piece of Software. This is the upside of the electronics programs today.

We really need a bit more information. What were the max RPM that the engine turned vs GPS speed? For example, if the engine spooled up to 5500 RPM, and little forward motion then a spun hub in the prop would come to mind.
If the engine didn't develop RPM, then you are correct that the fuel would be high on the list. First look at fuel filter, drain any material in the bowl, and see if water present. Replace the fuel filter. Did the squeeze bulb collapse? Check the vent, check anti siphon valve, check fuel lines, and also the valve selector for the tank. I have seen a piece of teflon tape in get caught in a line to cause restriction. Check the fuel lines, for being pinched all along their course. Finally the fuel pickup.
Also water in the fuel can cause issues, if there is just a little. Also age of fuel, and has it been stabilized?
Lots of things to check. _________________ Bob Austin
