Hello Harvey,
I look forward to seeing you at Friday Harbor. I still remember your hospitality at the last FH gathering!
Thanks for the tip on decal location. Tosca is at EQ Marine at the moment so the Honda can get an overdue 400 hour service (more on that in another thread). When I get her back next week, I'll have a look (especially whether the current Anna Leigh decal is worn). Your photo history is going to be valuable to me given that my hands have 10 thumbs.
I like the idea of a formal christening since it will be the perfect excuse for me to drink more than my normal share of fine bourbon! |

Thank you for the kind words. I hope that $00 hr things goes well. (I saw that thread I do think that EQ does things right, but I can understand the shock too.
Actually, placing the lettering was pretty easy once I got over the idea that it was going to leave a mark I would place them forward of the lights next time though.
Look forward to seeing you back at FH in May.
Harvey

We will be there and excited to meet everyone and see familiar faces. We're bringing our shrimp gear. looks like spot prawns will be open in the area May 13-16. I can already smell them cooking on the wallas. If anyone wants to fish with us, more than welcome. Might be fun to take over a shrimping spot with a fleet of c-dorys |

Hi Peter & Caryn,
After FH we are heading for Seattle with two other boats (Larry/Liz, Blake/Rhonda), have a look around. May cruise around the Gulf Islands on the way back. Also thinking about being back in the San Juans first half of August.

We are planning to tour the San Juans through the 25th. We don't even plan to cross the border but instead spend a full week locally cruising around.

Peter, I am looking at either before or after. Right now, thinking being in the SJ's for the week prior, and then for a few days after as well. Nothing definite, but wanting to be on the water, Wash Marine Parks are high on my list.

I'll probably be in the San Juans until Tuesday or Wednesday after the gathering. I have to be in Seattle Wednesday night and Thursday morning, but will be back out in the islands from Thursday afternoon until Memorial Day. _________________ My boating blog...http://samlandsman.blogspot.com/ |

Hi Terry. No need to reserve. The dock furthest to the right as you enter the marina is generally for us. As you approach FH veer right you'll see a long breakwater with a dog leg entry near the cliffs. I think H or G docks.
Tie up and check in.
If you have cleared customs that is. We usually clear at Roche first. If you want to clear at FH you can work your way to the inside docks and go up to clear in.
See you there. George |

A note about clearing Customs at Friday Harbor: there is a small building on the middle outside breakwater dock, marked for Customs. Tie off there first, only one person leaving the boat and clear Customs by phone, or they will send an officer down or instruct one person to go to the office (up the ramp and north of the marina office). |

OK, we are getting excited for the FH CBGT! FH is the kick-off event for what looks like a pretty full summer of San Juan - Puget Sound - Gulf Island - Strait of Georgia CBGTs and cruising for us old retired folks! Our appointment is made at West Coast Marine in Bellingham for a boat service the first week of May, we have not had Daydream serviced for two years, although we did change the oil before Lake Powell last year. Pete does a great job, and he has all the Honda diagnostic gear so he knows exactly what's up, and that gives us confidence everything will be scumpo when we get out on the water! _________________

Thanks for all the replies about post gathering plans. Like Pat (and Patty) dealt with for so many years, I have to schedule my boat trips and vacations around that 4 letter word, WORK. That said, it looks like I'll be going back to work for a few days after the gathering only to go out the end of the week for Caryn's birthday weekend. Gotta save those precious vacation days for the rest of the summer for gatherings, cruising and fishing. I might have to start my own retirement countdown Pat.
